A Filipino and a Chinese national were arrested in a major drug buy-bust operation in Plaridel, Bulacan, the Philippine National Police Drug Enforcement Group (PNP DEG) reported. The operation took place in Barangay Bulihan, where authorities seized over 100 kilos of illegal drugs, with an estimated street value exceeding ₱700 million.
The confiscated substances are suspected to include shabu and possibly cocaine. Investigators are now probing any links between this operation and recent discoveries of floating shabu in the waters off Zambales, Ilocos, and Cagayan.
Both suspects are set to face charges under Republic Act No. 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
