Actor Gerald Anderson has clarified ongoing speculation about his relationship with Julia Barretto, saying they are still very much together. In an interview with Toni Gonzaga on her YouTube show Toni Talks, Anderson addressed the rumors that emerged after fans noticed the couple hadn’t posted about each other recently.
“We’re okay,” he said, revealing that he had just dropped Barretto off at the airport for a trip to Dubai. He dismissed social media inactivity as a reliable sign of relationship issues, saying it’s unfortunate that people draw conclusions from it.
Reflecting on their five-year relationship, Anderson admitted they’ve faced challenges, but said those experiences only made them stronger. He praised Barretto’s maturity and emotional strength, calling her “loving” and “motherly,” and credited her for teaching him the true value of partnership.
When asked about settling down, Anderson—now 36—said he’s seriously thinking about it, sharing that even his father hopes Julia is “the one.”
Addressing past cheating accusations, Anderson denied being unfaithful in any of his relationships, stating, “You know who my girlfriends were. When I was with them, I was with them fully.”
He admitted to personal shortcomings in past relationships but emphasized growth and taking responsibility. Anderson also shared that he once considered quitting showbiz due to the heavy public scrutiny, but chose to stay and overcome the hardships.
