At least 24 Palestinians, including women and children, were killed in an Israeli airstrike on a tent camp sheltering displaced families in Khan Younis, southern Gaza, on Sunday, according to local health officials.
The airstrike set several tents ablaze and wounded dozens more. This attack comes amid a broader Israeli military campaign that has reportedly killed hundreds in the past 72 hours. Despite a recent visit by U.S. President Donald Trump, hostilities have escalated.
Hamas denounced the attack as a “new brutal crime” and held the U.S. partially responsible for the violence.
The Israeli military has yet to comment on the specific strike but previously stated that its operations aim to achieve its war objectives through extensive bombing across Gaza.
Meanwhile, Egyptian and Qatari mediators, with U.S. support, have initiated a fresh round of indirect ceasefire negotiations between Israel and Hamas in Doha. However, sources close to the talks reported no significant breakthroughs, with both parties holding firm to their demands
