Anne Curtis Calls for Stricter Road Safety Measures After Deadly Vehicle Crashes

Actress and TV host Anne Curtis is urging government agencies to take immediate action following a series of tragic vehicular accidents, calling the incidents a wake-up call for both authorities and motorists.

In a heartfelt Facebook post on May 4, Curtis expressed grief over the lives lost, particularly highlighting the deaths of a five-year-old girl and a 29-year-old man in a crash at NAIA Terminal 1, and the fatal toll from a multi-vehicle pileup at the SCTEX exit in Tarlac on May 1.

“Seeing so many vehicle accidents on the news with lives tragically taken… So many young lives taken away so soon,” she wrote. “My heart goes out to everyone left behind.”

Curtis appealed to the Land Transportation Office (LTO) and the Department of Transportation (DOTr) to step up efforts in enforcing safety standards and ensuring that only qualified drivers and roadworthy vehicles are allowed on the roads.

“I truly pray and hope this is a wake-up call… to ensure drivers and vehicles meet the highest safety and licensing standards,” she added.

Her statement comes amid growing public concern over road safety in the Philippines, particularly after recent high-profile crashes that have resulted in multiple deaths and injuries.
