Barbie Forteza was all smiles as she showed support for David Licauco at the premiere of his latest film, Samahan ng mga Makasalanan, held on Thursday night.
In a report by Lhar Santiago on 24 Oras, the Kapuso Primetime Princess shared that it was David who personally invited her to the event—and she was more than happy to attend.
“I’m really excited and proud of him. I know how much effort he put into this,” Barbie said, adding that David often told her how different and challenging the role was for him. “From the start, he was still figuring things out, but he was so eager to dive into the project and collaborate with everyone.”
David, who stars as Deacon Sam in the film, was clearly touched by Barbie’s presence. “For her to show up and support me, make time—it really speaks to her character. I’m just truly grateful,” he said.
The movie, which opens in cinemas on April 19, also features Sanya Lopez and is directed by Benedict Mique. Set in a fictional version of Vigan’s Calle Crisologo turned red-light district, the story follows Sam, a deacon assigned to a town that keeps losing its priests. To help the community change its ways, he forms a church group called the Samahan ng mga Makasalanan.
The premiere was also attended by cast members Liezel Lopez, Buboy Villar, Chanty Videla, Jade Tecson, Jay Ortega, Joel Torre, and Soliman Cruz, along with executives from GMA Pictures and Sparkle GMA Artist Center.
