JV Ejercito Endorses Bam Aquino; Edu Manzano Backs Heidi Mendoza for Senate

MANILA, Philippines – Senator JV Ejercito has thrown his support behind Bam Aquino’s Senate comeback bid, while actor Edu Manzano endorsed former Commission on Audit (COA) Commissioner Heidi Mendoza for the 2025 senatorial race.

Ejercito highlighted Aquino’s legislative work during their previous term in the Senate, citing their collaboration on landmark laws such as the Free College Education Law and Sangguniang Kabataan Reform Law.

“Because of his efforts, college is now free in the Philippines,” Ejercito said. “Let’s bring Bam back to the Senate so he can continue pushing for wider access to education and job creation.”

Aquino’s comeback is also endorsed by Senators Sherwin Gatchalian, Risa Hontiveros, and Francis Escudero. He recently campaigned in Naga City with former VP Leni Robredo, and held consultations in Pili, Camarines Sur, with upcoming visits to Camarines Norte and Masbate.

Meanwhile, Heidi Mendoza gained the backing of Edu Manzano, who praised her integrity over popularity.

“She’s not a celebrity, has no ads or millions to fund her campaign—but she has what money can’t buy: integrity,” Manzano said. He recalled Mendoza’s bravery in exposing corruption in the military, calling her “a voice for truth and accountability.”

Manzano also previously endorsed Aquino, strengthening his advocacy for candidates grounded in public service and clean governance.

Former senator Kiko Pangilinan also hit the campaign trail in Pampanga and Bulacan, engaging with farmers, local markets, and volunteers while highlighting his advocacy for agriculture and grassroots development.
