The husband of late actress Kim Sae-ron has released a statement confirming their short-lived marriage while firmly denying allegations of abuse and rumors about a pregnancy.
In a message shared via HoverLab, Kim’s husband, whose name remains undisclosed, clarified their relationship timeline and addressed claims that emerged following her tragic death in February. He stated they met in late 2024 and legally married in the U.S. on January 12, 2025. However, they later agreed to void the marriage due to personal differences and the challenges of a long-distance relationship.
The controversy reignited after Kim’s ex-boyfriend claimed in an interview that she confided in him about being abused. He also shared alleged screenshots of conversations and threatening messages from Kim’s husband.
In his defense, the husband said that due to their building’s poor soundproofing, any violent incidents would have been easily reported by neighbors. He emphasized that Kim willingly traveled to the U.S. multiple times during their brief relationship, contradicting claims of control or confinement.
He also addressed privacy concerns, explaining that both had agreed to share access to each other’s phones and social media. He called it a mutual decision, not surveillance.
Regarding rumors from YouTuber Lee Jin-ho that Kim was pregnant and had an abortion, he stressed these were completely false. He explained they never planned to have children and that Kim used contraception.
The husband also revealed that someone claiming to be Kim’s cousin tried to confront him about the allegations but ceased communication after he mentioned pursuing legal action.
“Please stop spreading false stories about a deceased person’s life,” he pleaded, urging the public to respect Kim’s memory.
Kim Sae-ron, who passed away at the age of 24, had been at the center of several controversies after her death, including alleged past relationships and family tensions.
