SAN JOSE DEL MONTE CITY – President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. called on Filipinos to choose leaders who will continue working for the country, emphasizing action over mere rhetoric.
“Magkaisa po tayo at mamili po tayo ng alam natin na tuloy-tuloy magtratrabaho,” Marcos said at the Alyansa Para Sa Bagong Pilipinas campaign rally in Bulacan. He highlighted that the candidates he supports already understand government work and prioritize action over words.
The event was attended by prominent political figures, including Benhur Abalos, Abby Binay, Pia Cayetano, Lito Lapid, Bong Revilla Jr., Vicente “Tito” Sotto III, Francis Tolentino, Ping Lacson, Manny Pacquiao, and Camille Villar. However, Senator Imee Marcos and Representative Erwin Tulfo were absent.
Key Issues Discussed
P20 per Kilo of Rice
Marcos reiterated his campaign promise to bring rice prices down to ₱20 per kilo, citing the importance of fixing the value chain. However, Ping Lacson admitted that achieving this goal is “difficult”, while Tito Sotto suggested that purchasing directly from local farmers could help lower prices.
MRT-7 Realignment
Regarding the MRT-7 project, Francis Tolentino acknowledged its potential to ease traffic bottlenecks in Commonwealth Avenue, while Camille Villar emphasized the need for similar projects nationwide to promote economic growth.
With Bulacan’s 2.17 million registered voters, Marcos and his allies aim to solidify support in this vote-rich province.
