Authorities have recovered the luxury van used in the kidnapping of a 14-year-old Chinese student in Taguig, just a day after the abduction. The vehicle was discovered abandoned in San Rafael, Bulacan, on February 21, about 100 meters from the Bypass Road in Kaingain.
Inside the van, police found the body of the 29-year-old driver, positioned face-down behind the driver’s seat. He had stab wounds on the head and sides, and markings indicating he was choked with wires, which were also found inside the vehicle.
Key Findings in the Investigation:
- The van’s dark tint and locked doors delayed the discovery of the body.
- Blood patterns suggest the driver was killed inside the vehicle before it was abandoned.
- The van had dents matching the kidnapping victim’s account.
- The digital rearview mirror with a camera was missing, and the dashboard was destroyed.
- Authorities suspect the perpetrator was familiar with the area.
The victim’s mother revealed that the driver previously worked at a casino in Clark, Pampanga, and often posted their car and home on social media—potentially making them a target.
Ongoing Investigation:
Police continue to track down the kidnappers, while the kidnapped student has been discharged from the hospital. The family has expressed gratitude to the Philippine government, the Chinese Embassy, and the student’s school for their support.
