Kapuso actress Jennylyn Mercado has opened up about her love story with Dennis Trillo, revealing that he was her first love and their breakup in 2011 left her heartbroken.
In an interview with Aubrey Carampel for GMA Integrated News, Jennylyn admitted that she never expected to reconnect with Dennis—until he reached out to reconcile in 2014.
“First love ko siya eh, kaya grabe ‘yung pain nung nawala siya. Tinanggap ko na lang na wala na talaga, pero sobrang saya ko nung bumalik siya.”

Dennis, for his part, shared that he initiated their reconciliation after realizing how special their love was.
“Dumating ‘yung realization na, ‘Uy, napaka-special pala ‘yung nangyari sa ‘min nun, and hindi ko alam if mararamdaman ko pa ulit ‘yun sa iba.’ Kaya hinanap ko ulit siya.”
He also emphasized that in relationships, love should always prevail, no matter the challenges.
“Kapag mahal mo, panindigan mo. Kailangan pag-ibig lagi ‘yung mananalo kahit ano pang problema ‘yan.”
