DJ Koo, the husband of Barbie Hsu, has broken his silence following the untimely passing of the Meteor Garden star.
In an emotional Instagram post, the South Korean rapper described his overwhelming grief, saying:
“My angel went back to heaven on February 2, 2025.”
“I am currently in a state of indescribable sadness and pain, with a heart as if being cut by a knife, and my insides are torn apart. I have no strength to speak, nor do I want to speak.”
Defending Barbie’s Legacy
While expressing gratitude to those mourning Barbie’s death, DJ Koo called out people tarnishing her name and family.
“There are devilish people who are spreading cruelty. Please, can you just let Hsu rest in peace?”
He also addressed rumors regarding Barbie’s inheritance, revealing that he will give all her assets to Barbie’s mother, emphasizing that her wealth was earned through her hard work for her family.
“I believe that protecting the family she loved most is the last thing I can do for her.”
A Love That Stood the Test of Time
Barbie and DJ Koo first dated in 1998, but separated due to his management’s disapproval. They rekindled their love and married in 2022.
Barbie’s Passing and Tributes
The actress died of influenza-induced pneumonia while in Japan at 48 years old. Her ashes have been brought back to Taiwan.
