In an interview on Fast Talk with Boy Abunda on January 29, the host asked:
“Ano ang pinakamalaking kontrobersiya na pinagdaanan ni Daniel na muntik kang bumigay?” (What was the biggest controversy Daniel went through that almost broke you?)
Estrada candidly responded:
“Siguro itong mga binatong masasakit na salita kay Daniel nitong mga nakaraang taon.” (Probably the painful words thrown at Daniel in the past years.)
She acknowledged that breakups are personal matters, but the cruel remarks from the public were what hurt her the most.
“‘Yung paghihiwalay kasi, sa kanila ni Kathryn ‘yon e. Sila naman ang nakakaalam talaga at sila naman ang magreresolba kung ano man ‘yung dahilan,” she said. (The breakup was between them. Only they truly know what happened, and only they can resolve it.)
However, she added:
“Pero ‘yung salita ng tao na halos hindi mo na makain at sobrang kabastusan, medyo ‘yon ang hindi ko na kinakaya.” (But the words from people—so rude and unbearable—those are what I couldn’t handle.)

Estrada revealed that she even felt the urge to confront those who maliciously attacked her son.
“Hindi ‘yung hindi ko kinakaya na parang ikamamatay ko ha; hindi ko na halos kayanin na parang kailangan ko nang hanapin ‘yung mga taong gano’n magsalita at isa-isahing sagutin,” she admitted. (Not that I felt like dying, but I reached a point where I wanted to find those people and respond to them one by one.)
Despite her emotions, she ultimately decided to let Daniel and Kathryn handle the situation.
“Ang pinakamaganda nating ginawa ay ipaubaya do’n sa dalawa,” she told Abunda. (The best thing we did was to leave it up to them.)
