The Philippine Marine Corps (PMC) has strengthened its amphibious capabilities with the acquisition of Combat Rubber Raiding Craft (CRRC) equipped with outboard motors, specifically for its Force Reconnaissance Group (FRG).
The newly acquired assets underwent testing on January 25 at the FRG Headquarters in Marine Barracks, Camp Gregorio Lim, Ternate, Cavite, according to a statement issued by the PMC on Tuesday evening.
“The CRRC will be used by FRG deployed units attached to Marine brigades and the AFP Special Operations Command to support special operations missions,” the PMC said.
These crafts will enhance small-scale amphibious operations, providing reliable and operationally ready platforms that align with the country’s defense strategy. The PMC emphasized that these assets would play a key role in defending the nation’s sovereignty and strategic maritime interests.
The acquisition is part of the AFP Modernization Program, which aims to transform the PMC into a high-readiness amphibious crisis response force under the Comprehensive Archipelagic Defense Concept (CADC).
