Actress Ruffa Gutierrez has remained silent regarding the graft conviction of her boyfriend, former Quezon City mayor and actor Herbert Bautista. Bautista, alongside former city administrator Aldrin Cuña, was found guilty by the Sandiganbayan for a P32 million procurement deal in 2019 that bypassed city council approval.
Graft Case Details
The case involved a contract for an online processing system for occupational permits in Quezon City. Bautista and Cuña were sentenced to imprisonment of six years and one month as a minimum to 10 years maximum, along with perpetual disqualification from holding public office.
Gutierrez Focuses on Family and Work
Gutierrez refrained from addressing the issue on social media, sharing updates about a “glam day” and a day trip with her mother, Annabelle Rama, instead. She also reshared a post promoting the action drama Incognito, starring her brother Richard Gutierrez and Daniel Padilla.
“Let’s have an ‘Incognito’ watch night, Mare,” Gutierrez captioned the post.
Relationship with Bautista
Gutierrez confirmed her relationship with Bautista in June 2024 during an interview with Karen Davila, describing it as “serious” while expressing her intent to keep their romance private. According to her daughter Venice, their relationship blossomed after co-starring in the 2020 drama The House Arrest of Us.
Gutierrez’s last public post with Bautista was during a Christmas celebration with her family.
