Maris Racal Releases New Single “Perpektong Tao” Amid Cheating Controversy

Actress and singer Maris Racal has made a heartfelt return to music with her latest single, “Perpektong Tao,” released at midnight on January 16. The song comes after Racal faced a cheating controversy last year involving her on-screen partner Anthony Jennings and his non-showbiz ex-girlfriend, Jam Villanueva.
A Song of Healing and Redemption
Racal took to social media to announce the release, describing the single as a product of her journey through pain, regret, and redemption.
“Writing this song healed me in ways I never thought possible,” Racal captioned her post, sharing photos of her holding the album cover. “It was born from a journey through pain, regret, and the courage to seek forgiveness… I’m sharing this with the world, hoping it resonates with those who need it most.”
Lyrics That Reflect Personal Struggles
“Perpektong Tao” delves into themes of self-reflection, accountability, and seeking forgiveness. Lyrics like, “Tigil nang bait-baitan. Yan ang paraan. May nasasaktan” (Stop projecting to be good. That’s the way because someone is hurting), and “Binabago na ang buong pagkatao ko” (Already changing my whole being), mirror Racal’s own narrative after the controversy.
A Busy Year Ahead
Racal has recently broken her social media hiatus to promote her projects, including the critically acclaimed film “Sunshine.” Directed by Antoinette Jadaone, the film tells the story of a young gymnast who discovers she is pregnant before national team tryouts.
“Sunshine” debuted at the 36th Palm Springs International Film Festival and is set to be featured in the 75th Berlin International Film Festival under the Generation 14+ program.
Additionally, Racal will star in the upcoming Netflix series “Incognito,” premiering January 20. The series boasts a star-studded cast, including Daniel Padilla, Richard Gutierrez, Ian Veneracion, and Kaila Estrada.
Racal’s Resilience
With “Perpektong Tao,” Racal demonstrates her ability to transform personal struggles into art, resonating with fans who admire her vulnerability and courage to move forward.
