
Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) president Abraham “Bambol” Tolentino is set to receive the prestigious Executive of the Year award at the Philippine Sportswriters Association (PSA) Awards Night on January 27, 2025.
Historic Olympic Achievements
Under Tolentino’s leadership, the Philippines marked its best Olympic performance in 100 years at the 2024 Paris Games. Gymnast Carlos Yulo clinched two gold medals, while boxers Nesthy Petecio and Aira Villegas secured bronze medals, setting a new standard of success for the nation.
This will be Tolentino’s third time receiving the award, having previously won in 2021 and 2022.
Other Honorees
- Athlete of the Year: Carlos Yulo leads the roster of awardees for his stellar achievements in gymnastics.
- NSA of the Year: The Gymnastics Association of the Philippines (GAP) will be honored for its role in Yulo’s success and for fielding three other gymnasts—Aleah Finnegan, Emma Malabuyo, and Levi Ruivivar—at the Paris Olympics.
- Special Citations: June Mar Fajardo, Kevin Quiambao, and Jia de Guzman will also be recognized for their exceptional performances in their respective sports.
The awards night will celebrate the remarkable accomplishments of Filipino athletes and sports organizations in 2024.
