A fire engulfed a residential area in Barangay Zapote I, Bacoor City, Cavite early Monday morning.
Timeline and Response
The fire began before 5 a.m., according to a report on Unang Balita by James Agustin. The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) raised the fire alarm to the third level shortly after 6 a.m. Firefighters declared the blaze under control by 7:04 a.m.
Thirteen fire trucks from the BFP, supported by units from volunteer groups, responded to the incident. Narrow streets in the area posed challenges for the responders, forcing some firefighters to access affected houses via a vacant lot or by climbing nearby roofs.
Resident Impact
Residents reported waking up to an already massive blaze. While some managed to save appliances and clothing, many are left seeking assistance in the aftermath.
Ongoing Investigation
Authorities have not yet determined the number of affected residents or the cause of the fire. GMA Integrated News is coordinating with the BFP and the local government for updates.
