Olympic bronze medalist Eumir Marcial and his wife, Princess, have opened up about their separation, revealing conflicting accounts of events that led to the breakdown of their marriage.
Princess’s Allegations
Princess revealed in a social media post that she decided to leave Marcial after discovering an alleged affair in October 2024.
“I, along with my sister, personally caught them inside an Airbnb condominium in Pasay,” Princess wrote, adding that Marcial and the alleged mistress were detained for five days.
Despite her family’s disapproval, Princess said she gave Marcial multiple chances to reconcile. She withdrew charges against him, believing he would make amends. However, she claims he continued his relationship with the alleged mistress.
“According to some mutual friends, Eumir and his mistress are now living together. He withdrew our savings to construct a house for them in Zamboanga,” Princess alleged.
Princess also cited enduring emotional and physical abuse, manipulation, and psychological torment throughout their relationship.
Eumir Marcial’s Response
In response, Marcial denied Princess’s allegations, stating, “Ang totoo noon, hindi totoo lahat ng mga sinabi niya sa akin.”
He claimed the injuries Princess cited were accidental and occurred when he defended himself during her alleged physical attacks.
“Pinoprotektahan ko ang sarili ko kaya natatamaan siya. Do you think, kung sinasaktan ko siya, gusto niya pang mag-stay sa akin?” Marcial questioned.
Marcial also addressed the alleged affair, explaining that the woman involved was a friend from Zamboanga whom he was helping return a lost wallet. He denied any romantic relationship and stated that Princess and her sister assaulted the woman.
Marcial further refuted claims that he used joint savings to build a house, asserting that their joint account and property titles are under Princess’s control.
Marriage Breakdown
The couple’s relationship reportedly worsened after the incident. Marcial stated that while detained for four days following Princess’s allegations, she failed to bring him food or clothes.
“That’s when I realized it’s no longer love,” Marcial said.

The couple, who married in 2021 after Marcial’s Tokyo Olympics success, now face a highly publicized separation marked by serious accusations and denials. Both have shared their sides in hopes of resolving the matter while grappling with the emotional and personal fallout.
