Actor Anthony Jennings has broken his social media silence following a cheating controversy, using his platform to promote his Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) entry, And The Breadwinner Is….
Jennings shared the movie poster on Instagram on December 23, captioning the post, “TWO DAYS NA LANG, YAYAIN NA ANG BUONG PAMILYA!” (Two days to go, invite the whole family!).
Notably, Jennings and co-star Maris Racal, who was also linked to the controversy, were absent from the film’s premiere on the same day. Directed by Jun Lana, the film also stars Vice Ganda, Eugene Domingo, Gladys Reyes, Jhong Hilario, Kokoy de Santos, MC, Lassy, and Joel Torre.
The Controversy
The actor faced public scrutiny after his non-showbiz ex-girlfriend, Jamela Villanueva, shared screenshots of his alleged intimate conversations with Racal before their breakup. Racal later admitted to a “mistake,” stating that Jennings had made her believe he was single when he pursued her.
Jennings issued a public apology to both Racal and Villanueva for the pain caused but did not provide further clarification on the matter.
