Dominic Roque has officially confirmed that he and actress Sue Ramirez are dating, putting an end to weeks of speculation sparked by their public appearances together.
Roque opened up about their budding relationship during the premiere night of the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) entry The Kingdom in Quezon City. Attending the event alongside fellow actor Marco Gumabao, Roque shared that his presence was not just for the film’s stars, including Cristine Reyes, but also for Ramirez, who plays Dayang Lualhati, daughter of the Kingdom of Kalayaan’s ruler Lakan Makisig (portrayed by Vic Sotto).
“Para kay Sue, of course. Para kay Cristine rin; barkada ko rin si Cristine (For Sue, of course. And for Cristine, who’s also my friend),” Roque said when asked about his attendance.
“DominSue” Sparks Joy
When asked about the nickname “DominSue,” a portmanteau of their names created by fans, Roque shared his delight, though with a bit of nervous humor. “Happy. Pinagpapawisan ako… Wala na akong ibang masabi, Merry Christmas na lang (I’m sweating. I have nothing more to say, just Merry Christmas).”
Roque confirmed they are indeed dating but clarified they are still getting to know each other. “Happy naman kami together. We’re going out and ayun, kinikilala namin ang isa’t isa (We’re happy together. We’re going out and getting to know each other better),” he said.
Relationship History
The pair fueled dating rumors after being spotted at various events, including a gathering in Siargao last November. Ramirez, when asked about their relationship status earlier this month, gave a similar statement, expressing happiness while taking things slowly.
Roque previously dated actress Bea Alonzo, with whom he was reportedly serious about settling down until their relationship ended earlier this year. Ramirez was in a long-term relationship with Victorias City Mayor Javi Benitez, which ended in July 2024.
