Actress Yasmien Kurdi has spoken out about the bullying her 12-year-old daughter, Ayesha, has been experiencing at school. Kurdi detailed the incidents in a series of Instagram Stories on December 11, revealing how a group of classmates allegedly harassed and excluded her daughter.
Kurdi shared that Ayesha was “targeted by a group of students” after being unable to join an online discussion about their Christmas party due to a family trip abroad. The situation escalated when seven to nine students reportedly surrounded Ayesha in class, blocking her from leaving the room and denying her food and recess.
Online Harassment
The bullying has extended beyond the classroom, with students allegedly creating an online hate group called the “Ayesha Hate Club” aimed at tormenting her. Kurdi noted that Ayesha has been enduring bullying since Grade 2, which has led to paranoia and anxiety.
“Ayesha is just a kid; she recently turned 12, and she has been enduring this type of bullying since Grade 2,” Kurdi lamented.
Frustration with Parents and School
Kurdi expressed frustration with the parents of the alleged bullies, accusing them of twisting the facts and telling her to “back off.” She also questioned the school’s response to the situation, asking, “Will the school do something about this?” Kurdi chose not to name the institution.
A Mother’s Apology
In an emotional post, Kurdi apologized to her daughter, expressing sorrow for the ordeal. “I’m so sorry, Ayesha. You have to go through all of this because I am your mom. But I will always be here for you. I will protect you with all my life. You are beautiful inside and out.”
Support for Ayesha
Ayesha’s father, Rey Soldevilla, and other celebrities have shown support. Actor Rocco Nacino even offered to teach Ayesha Jiujitsu for self-defense, praising her as a “brave girl.”
Aside from Ayesha, Kurdi and Soldevilla share a younger daughter, Raya Layla.
The incident has sparked conversations about bullying in schools and the role of institutions in safeguarding students’ well-being.
