Kapuso royal couple Marian Rivera and Dingdong Dantes will mark their 10th wedding anniversary on December 30, 2024, but instead of a grand celebration or a renewal of vows, they are opting for a simple family gathering with their children, Zia and Sixto.
Celebrating a Decade of Marriage
Dantes explained that renewing their vows is unnecessary at this time.
“We don’t need to renew our vows because we still remember them,” he said with a laugh.
For the couple, the milestone is an opportunity to impart the importance of their union to their children.
“We want them to realize that this is where it all began—10 years ago,” Dantes added.
Rivera echoed the sentiment, emphasizing that the best way to teach their kids the value of marriage is through their daily interactions.
“The greatest way of showing the true importance of marriage is to show it every day,” Dantes said.
Building Family Traditions
Rivera and Dantes are also focused on creating special traditions for their children, especially during Christmas.
Rivera shared how her childhood Christmas celebrations were modest, often just with her grandmother. Now, as part of a growing family, she treasures the festive gatherings with Dantes’ family and their children.
“It’s more fun now,” Rivera said, adding that they aim to blend her past experiences with Dingdong’s family traditions to create their own.
Dantes highlighted the importance of making these moments memorable for their children, ensuring they experience the warmth and joy of the season.
“We’re creating our own Christmas tradition,” he said.
A Memorable Year
This year has been eventful for the couple. Rivera ventured into independent cinema with her first Cinemalaya project, Balota, which earned her an acting award. She also secured several new endorsements.
Dantes, after a busy 2023, expressed gratitude for being able to dedicate more time to his family this year.
“That is the highlight of this year for me,” he said.
