Diana Zubiri, beloved as the original Danaya in the 2005 fantasy drama Encantadia, recently delighted fans by meeting her successors in guarding the Brilyante ng Lupa: Sanya Lopez and Bianca Umali.
Three Generations of Brilyante Keepers
- Diana Zubiri portrayed Danaya, the fierce guardian of the earth stone and the daughter of Lireo’s queen, Mine-a, in the original Encantadia.

A Magical Moment
Zubiri shared a photo of her meet-up with Lopez and Umali on Instagram on December 8, captioning it, “Brilyante ng Lupa.” The gathering symbolized the passing of the torch through different generations of Encantadia stars.
Zubiri’s former co-star Karylle, who played her sister Alena in the original series, playfully teased in the comments about not being part of the moment.

Zubiri continues to be a beloved figure among Encantadia fans, reuniting with original Sang’gres Karylle, Iza Calzado, and Sunshine Dizon on It’s Showtime in November 2023.
Meanwhile, Sang’gre promises to introduce a new chapter in the Encantadia saga. Slated for a 2025 premiere, the sequel stars Bianca Umali alongside Kelvin Miranda, Faith da Silva, and Angel Guardian, spotlighting a new generation of guardians while paying homage to the classic series.
