Enrique Gil and Jane De Leon Star as Ghost Hunters in ‘Strange Frequencies’

Enrique Gil and Jane De Leon take center stage as ghost hunters in the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) 2024 entry “Strange Frequencies: Taiwan Killer Hospital.”

The full trailer, released on Reality MM Studios’ YouTube channel on December 2, teases a chilling adventure as the duo investigates the mysteries of a haunted hospital in Taiwan.

A Ghost-Hunting Project Gone Wrong

The trailer introduces Gil as a producer creating a project called “Strange Frequencies,” where he and other celebrities, including De Leon, explore haunted sites to engage their audience. The group begins their journey by visiting Taiwan’s bustling Ximending Night Market and other tourist spots before heading to the enigmatic Xinglin Hospital.

What starts as an exciting quest for views quickly spirals into terror when a mysterious spirit abducts a member of their team. The group’s mission shifts to finding a way out of the haunted hospital, facing harrowing experiences that test their courage.

Star-Studded Cast

The film also features Alexa Miro, Rob Gomez, MJ Lastimosa, Raf Pineda, and Ryan Azurin. Miro revealed during a press conference in November that she had a “paranormal experience” while filming but chose to keep it to herself to avoid alarming her co-stars.

Inspired by a Cult Classic

“Strange Frequencies: Taiwan Killer Hospital” is based on the 2018 Korean film “Gonjiam: Haunted Asylum,” known for its immersive horror elements.

As part of the MMFF 2024 lineup, the movie promises a thrilling mix of suspense, supernatural encounters, and cultural exploration, set against the backdrop of Taiwan’s eerie legends.
