Niño Muhlach Clarifies Joke on Settlement in Son Sandro’s Case: ‘Not Meant to Be Taken Seriously’

Niño Muhlach has addressed his earlier remarks about telling his son, Sandro Muhlach, to consider forgiving his alleged abusers for a hypothetical PHP 100 million settlement, stressing that the comment was made in jest and taken out of context.

“Sandro doesn’t want to agree to a settlement. But I told him, ‘If it’s PHP 100 million, forgive them already, son. Learn how to forgive!’” Niño said during an interview with Philippine Entertainment Portal.

The actor clarified on Facebook that the comment was a joke, emphasizing, “Those who know me well are aware that I often make light-hearted remarks. However, it is crucial to clarify that my comments during the interview were not meant to be taken seriously.”

Seeking Justice, Not Settlement

Niño reiterated that their family’s goal is to pursue justice for Sandro, who filed complaints of rape through sexual assault and acts of lasciviousness against GMA independent contractors Jojo Nones and Richard Cruz.

“Our sole objective is to seek justice for my son. We have placed our trust in the legal system to deliver the rightful outcome,” Niño stated.

Case Background

Sandro’s allegations stem from an incident at the GMA Gala last July 20, where he claimed to have been molested and taught to use illegal drugs by Nones and Cruz. The Department of Justice (DOJ) filed criminal charges against the two contractors in October, following Sandro’s initial complaint in August.

During Senate hearings, Sandro provided a detailed account of the alleged abuse, which has since gained significant media attention.

Niño Muhlach has consistently supported his son’s pursuit of justice, urging the public to focus on the facts of the case and trust the legal process.
