Francine Diaz and Seth Fedelin, the on-screen love team starring in the upcoming Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) movie My Future You, hinted at the possibility of building a deeper relationship beyond their professional partnership.
Seth’s Commitment to Winning Trust
During a media conference for their film on Wednesday, November 27, Fedelin shared his hope for Diaz to be part of his future, though he acknowledged the uncertainty of destiny.
“I can’t say she is my future. But I hope she could be. All I can say now is that I am at peace, happy, and content. So maybe it’s her,” the 22-year-old actor said.
Fedelin also emphasized his effort to gain the trust of Diaz’s parents, expressing the importance of their approval before moving forward with any potential courtship.
“What I went through to be able to hold Francine’s hand again is no joke. I want her parents to feel that their child is safe with me,” he added.
Francine’s Perspective
Diaz admitted she feels a connection with Fedelin but prefers to take things slowly, focusing on their careers and families for now.
“I feel like he could be the one, but for my future, I don’t want something overly romantic. I’d rather have a relationship like best friends,” she explained.
Not Yet a Courtship
Fedelin clarified that he is not officially courting Diaz but sees his efforts as “pre-courtship,” concentrating on building trust with her family first.
“I haven’t thought about courting yet. This is more like courting her parents than Francine herself,” he said.
About My Future You
The film, set to premiere on December 25, marks the pair’s first movie collaboration after starring in hit TV shows like Kadenang Ginto, Fractured, and Dirty Linen.
In My Future You, Diaz and Fedelin play Karen and Lex, who meet through an online dating app despite living 15 years apart. Their connection, made possible by a comet, leads them to work together to change the past and reshape their future.
