Regine Velasquez and Piolo Pascual have reunited on screen, portraying a struggling couple in the music video for Velasquez’s rendition of “Someday.” The video was released on Star Music’s YouTube channel on November 17.
A Love Put to the Test
The music video opens with an intense argument between the couple on their way home from a gathering. Velasquez’s character feels hurt after sharing with friends that her partner, played by Pascual, isn’t ready for marriage despite their decade-long relationship.
“What more do you want? Why are you so envious of them? It’s just a proposal, a marriage, a piece of paper,” Pascual’s character says.
To which Velasquez replies, “If it’s just a simple thing, why is it so difficult for you to give that to me?”
The emotional exchange reflects the couple’s deeper issues, as Velasquez points out, “If you love someone, everything would be easy.”
A Heartbreaking Twist
Though the pair reconcile and tackle their differences, tragedy strikes just as Pascual’s character decides to propose. Velasquez’s character is involved in an accident and never makes it to their planned meeting place.
A Reunion of Stars
This music video marks the reunion of Velasquez and Pascual as an on-screen pair, their first collaboration since the 2007 film Paano Kita Iibigin.
“Someday” is featured in Velasquez’s studio album Reginified, a collection of covers from both local and international artists.
