ROME – South Korean actor Song Joong-ki and his wife, British actress Katy Louise Saunders, have joyfully welcomed their second child, a baby girl, in the Italian capital.
Joong-ki shared the happy news with fans on his official fan cafe on Wednesday, November 20, expressing gratitude for their growing family.
“I’m currently in Rome, and it’s been just over a year since I met my first child here. I’m incredibly grateful to announce that we’ve been blessed with another beautiful baby. Our lovely princess was born healthy, and both my wife and our baby are doing well and resting,” the actor wrote, as reported by South Korean media.
A Growing Family
In July, Joong-ki’s agency, HighZium Studio, confirmed Saunders’ pregnancy but did not disclose details about the expected due date. The couple previously welcomed their first child, a son, five months after their wedding last year.
Joong-ki has often shared that starting a family has always been one of his dreams, adding another layer of fulfillment to his personal life.
Their Backgrounds
Joong-ki made his acting debut in the 2008 film “A Frozen Flower” and gained international fame with roles in “Descendants of the Sun,” “The Innocent Man,” and “Reborn Rich.” He was previously married to South Korean superstar Song Hye Kyo, his co-star in “Descendants of the Sun,” before their divorce in 2019.
Katy Louise Saunders, known for her work in “The Lizzie McGuire Movie” and “The Borgia,” has been a private yet supportive presence in Joong-ki’s life, especially as they navigate parenthood together.
