Drew Arellano Completes New Zealand Marathon with Son Primo

TV host Drew Arellano turned his recent marathon in Queenstown, New Zealand, into a memorable father-and-son bonding experience by running alongside his eldest child, Primo.

Arellano shared the special moment on Instagram, posting photos and reflections from the race held against the stunning backdrop of snowcapped mountains and lakes. While father and son appeared to run in different race categories—Primo’s bib featuring a “parent/caregiver” tag—the shared experience made the event all the more meaningful.

“Not sure if it was the breathtaking snowcapped mountain range and lake views that slowed me down, or the rolling terrain—but one thing is for sure: every second of pain was totally worth it,” Arellano wrote. “Don’t expect to set a personal best; instead, expect the best marathon experience!”

Family Affair in Queenstown

Arellano was joined by his sister and several friends during the marathon, making it a true family affair. “What a way to share it with family who raced alongside me. I’ll definitely find another reason to visit you again, Queenstown!” he added.

Primo, the eldest of Drew and Iya Villania’s four children, is no stranger to joining his father in physical activities. The family is known for their active lifestyle, often shared on social media.

Growing Family

Meanwhile, Villania, currently pregnant with the couple’s fifth child, stayed behind as she prepares for the arrival of their newest addition. The couple, who announced the pregnancy in September, recently revealed they are expecting a baby girl.

As Drew continues to rack up marathon memories, his adventure in Queenstown stands out as a heartwarming reminder of the joys of family and fitness.
