Following his breakup with actress Sue Ramirez, Victorias City Mayor Javi Benitez announced he’s taking a break from relationships, humorously declaring himself “closed for renovation.”
Focusing on Work and Campaign
Benitez shared the update on his Facebook page on Wednesday, November 13, with a touch of wit:
“Sa mga ga-submit sang application para mangin girlfriend ko, ‘Closed for Renovation’ pa kita subong!” (To those submitting applications to be my girlfriend, I’m “closed for renovation” for the time being!)
He explained that his focus is now on his work and his congressional campaign for the 2025 elections:
“Focus lang kita sa ubra kag kampanya anay. Mga Maritess, relax lang kamo ha, indi gid kamo mag-una!” (I am currently focusing on work and my political campaign. To the Maritesses, just relax and don’t jump to conclusions!)
Five-Year Relationship Ends
Benitez and Ramirez were together for five years. In a statement on November 9, Benitez confirmed their split, which occurred four months ago.
“I wish her nothing but happiness and the love she deserves. Here’s to those good times, held close to my heart, and to the grace of whatever lies ahead,” he said.
Sue Ramirez’s Sightings with Dominic Roque
While Ramirez has not publicly addressed the breakup, she was spotted in Siargao with actor Dominic Roque before Benitez confirmed the split. The two were reportedly seen close to each other, with images suggesting they were kissing, though neither has commented on the incident.
