
Filipina beauty queen Catriona Gray has touched down in Mexico, ready to take on her role as a backstage host for the 73rd Miss Universe competition.
Vibrant Arrival
Gray shared a glimpse of her arrival on Instagram, stunning fans with floral-themed portraits. The 2018 Miss Universe winner paired bold makeup with a strapless top and large gold earrings, exuding elegance.
“Hola Mexico!! I’m over the moon to have touched down in your beautiful country!” she wrote. “Grateful to have been invited back to serve as your backstage host for the 73rd @missuniverse competition.”
She added her excitement to explore Mexico further and asked fans about their favorite contestants.
A Veteran Host
This marks Gray’s third stint as a commentator for the international pageant since her victory in 2018. In a prior interview, Gray revealed she was initially considered for the main hosting duties.
Alongside Gray, 2022 Miss Universe R’Bonney Gabriel will co-host the preliminary rounds with reigning Miss Universe Sheynnis Palacios. Olivia Culpo and Mario Lopez will host the main event.
Chelsea Manalo’s Miss Universe Bid
Miss Universe Philippines 2024 Chelsea Manalo is representing the country at the coronation night on November 16 (November 17 in the Philippines), vying to secure the country’s fifth crown.
Gray expressed confidence in Manalo, describing her as a breath of fresh air for the Philippines.
“Chelsea… gives a fresh new air to Miss Philippines. She’s so young, and I’m really excited to see how she transforms onstage,” Gray said.
As the pageant draws near, Gray’s return to the Miss Universe stage as a host adds to the excitement, while Filipinos rally behind Manalo for the coveted crown.
