Ara Mina Teams Up with Boss Toyo to Auction Iconic ‘Mano Po’ Gown for Charity

Actress Ara Mina has enlisted the help of popular content creator Boss Toyo to auction the iconic red gown she wore in the 2002 film Mano Po. The gown, known for its daring backless design, has remained popular over the years, especially within the LGBTQ+ community and in fashion circles, drawing comparisons to styles later worn by global stars like Beyoncé and Kim Kardashian.

Appearing on Boss Toyo’s show Pinoy Pawnstars, Mina shared her intention to use the auction proceeds to fund an assistance center in Santolan dedicated to people with disabilities. Inspired by her sister who has Down syndrome, Mina’s planned center will offer services like assessment, therapy, and even a space for Paralympic activities.

This red gown from Mano Po holds sentimental value for Mina, who won her first Best Actress award for the role. The 2002 film featured a star-studded cast including Maricel Soriano, Richard Gomez, and Kris Aquino, and was a major success at the Manila Film Festival, winning 12 awards.
