Charo Santos Takes Break from ‘Batang Quiapo’ Taping Due to Voice Loss

Charo Santos revealed that she is temporarily stepping away from taping for Batang Quiapo after losing her voice, following a busy schedule and recent military training. The actress, who plays Tindeng in the TV series, shared the update in a video on her Instagram on November 4.

“I just woke up one morning without a voice,” Santos explained, attributing it to a weakened immune system from “back-to-back taping schedules” and her recent training as a Philippine Air Force (PAF) Reservist. During her military training in October, Santos communicated through a whiteboard to follow her doctor’s instructions not to speak.

The actress described the experience as challenging, especially during field training exercises, but was relieved to graduate from the program. “Thankfully, I was able to graduate,” she shared.

Santos noted that her voice is starting to return, albeit slightly raspy. “Hopefully, by next week, I will be able to resume taping for Batang Quiapo,” she assured fans.

Beyond her acting career, Santos is known for her leadership at ABS-CBN, where she served as president and CEO and currently sits on the board of directors. She also hosted the iconic anthology show Maalaala Mo Kaya.
