First-time mom Janine Tugonon recently opened up about the unexpected challenges of breastfeeding, sharing that it has been more difficult for her than both pregnancy and Cesarean section recovery. The former Miss Universe Philippines posted a candid Instagram Story showing herself beside her baby’s crib, humorously addressing her sleep deprivation with, “’Sup eyebags? Kaya pa, teh?” (Are you still okay, sister?)
Tugonon, who welcomed her daughter in October, admitted she “underestimated breastfeeding” and expressed her surprise at the demands it placed on her. The beauty queen-model, currently based in the United States, had previously announced her pregnancy in June, displaying the flags of the Philippines and France in a post that hinted at her partner’s French nationality.
Aside from balancing breastfeeding with post-CS recovery, Tugonon has also been focused on her fitness, recently sharing a photo on a treadmill. While she’s given glimpses into her journey as a new mother, Tugonon has yet to reveal her daughter’s name.
Tugonon, crowned Miss Universe Philippines in 2012 and first runner-up in the Miss Universe 2012 pageant, continues to share her experiences with motherhood, offering followers an honest look at the joys and challenges of her new role.
