Actress Barbie Imperial has launched a donation drive to support her fellow Bicolanos affected by Severe Tropical Storm Kristine. Deeply saddened by the storm’s impact on her hometown, Imperial took to social media to appeal for donations, posting an art card with details for those wanting to help.
“Nakakalungkot isipin ang pinsalang dulot ng Bagyong Kristine. Maraming pamilya ang nawalan ng tahanan at kailangan nila ang ating tulong. Mahal kong Bicol, andito po ako para sainyo,” she wrote. Imperial shared that the drive has already raised almost P82,000, which will be used to purchase food, rice, canned goods, and other essential items.
The actress, whose family in Legazpi City was affected by flooding, expressed gratitude that her loved ones are safe, though she remains concerned for her kababayans facing similar struggles. “Nagpapasalamat ako sa Diyos na okay ang nanay ko but I feel bad for all my kababayan,” she said.
Imperial posted photos of the relief goods, which she and her team are preparing to distribute to affected families in the coming days.
