Actress and social media star Ivana Alawi has made it clear that she has no intention of running for public office, stating that she lacks knowledge in politics and lawmaking. Alawi addressed speculation about her potential political aspirations in a TikTok video, expressing her reluctance to enter politics without adequate preparation.
“I know nothing about politics and making laws. If I were to enter such, I must first study for three to four years—because I don’t want to put our country at risk,” Alawi said. She emphasized that helping others doesn’t require holding office and that anyone can contribute to the community in their own way.
Alawi also highlighted the importance of integrity and competence for anyone considering a political career. She encouraged voters to prioritize trustworthiness over popularity and called for wise decision-making in upcoming elections. “Please vote wisely because we love the Philippines. I believe the country will prosper as long as we pick the right leaders,” she added.
Alawi concluded by urging those considering a run for office to be dedicated to serving the public. “If you are selfish, please don’t run for public office,” she advised.
