Jesi Corcuera Reveals Journey to Fatherhood Through Artificial Insemination

MANILA — Jesi Corcuera, a “StarStruck” alumnus and transman, shared his experience of conceiving a child through artificial insemination after announcing his pregnancy earlier this month. Corcuera described his journey during an interview on “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda,” revealing that the conception process succeeded on the fourth attempt.

Corcuera initially considered in vitro fertilization (IVF), but local regulations in the Philippines restricting IVF access for LGBT couples led him to opt for artificial insemination instead. “Artificial insemination became my last option,” Corcuera said, citing budget constraints and the biological limitations of aging.

The pregnancy process took three years, and he adjusted his hormone regimen to ensure his baby’s safety. He noted that he even considered his partner Camille carrying the pregnancy, but ultimately decided to conceive himself. Corcuera, who affectionately refers to his unborn daughter as “ninja,” expressed his excitement about fatherhood and emphasized that gender does not limit one’s capacity to be a loving parent.
