Taxi Driver Stabbed to Death in Baguio Road Rage Incident

A fatal case of road rage in Baguio City led to the stabbing death of a taxi driver along Asin Road.

CCTV footage from Tuesday night captured a white multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) blocking the path of another taxi, triggering a confrontation. While the actual altercation wasn’t captured, reports indicate that the driver of one taxi and his brother attacked the driver of the other, leaving the victim bleeding on the road.

The injured taxi driver was rushed to the hospital but later succumbed to his injuries.

According to Police Major Harriet Bulcio, the incident began after the victim allegedly overtook the suspects’ vehicle, causing road friction that escalated into a physical altercation, resulting in the fatal stabbing.

The two suspects surrendered to authorities and are currently detained at the Baguio City Police Office (BCPO) Station 9. While they declined to provide statements, they admitted to the crime and now face murder charges. The case has been referred to the prosecutor following an inquest.
