Actress Jessy Mendiola has expressed her full support for her husband, Luis Manzano, as he embarks on a new journey—running for vice governor of Batangas in the 2025 midterm elections. In a heartfelt letter shared on her Instagram on Thursday, October 3, Mendiola opened up about how Manzano’s candidacy was unexpected but something they now view as part of a greater plan.
“This wasn’t part of our plan, but God had other plans for us,” Mendiola wrote, emphasizing her pride in Manzano for stepping up to help make a difference in the lives of others.
Describing him as one of the most hardworking and generous people she knows, Mendiola shared how Manzano has always been considerate of others’ welfare, a quality admired by his colleagues. “Your heart is so pure, and that’s one of the reasons I love you,” she added.
Mendiola acknowledged that while this path wasn’t something they initially envisioned, she is standing firmly by his side. “This is a huge change in our lives, and I know it’s a good one. Many of us are here to support you, Love,” she assured him.
Manzano responded with gratitude in the comments section, thanking Mendiola for her unwavering support during this significant phase in his life.
The TV host-turned-politician filed his certificate of candidacy alongside his mother, veteran actress and former Batangas governor Vilma Santos, who is seeking the gubernatorial seat once again, and his half-brother, Ryan Recto, who is running for Batangas 6th district representative.
