Louise delos Reyes recently shared how she was affected by the backlash she received from fans of the popular “AlDub” love team, composed of Maine Mendoza and Alden Richards. The actress, who was Alden’s first on-screen partner, spoke candidly about the experience during a guest appearance on Fast Talk with Boy Abunda.
When asked if she and Alden were ever in a real relationship, delos Reyes clarified that they were not. “No, kasi may pumasok na po agad na nanligaw na pursigido,” she said, indicating that someone else quickly entered the picture.
The actress admitted that the fame of “AlDub” impacted her, particularly because of the intense bashing from fans. “Medyo po,” she confessed, adding that while it was difficult at the time, she now feels more equipped to handle negativity. “Ngayon, naiintindihan ko where they are coming from. So mas okay na ako ngayon.”
Delos Reyes highlighted how challenging it was when her family was dragged into the situation, but now, she is in a “better headspace” and more understanding of the fans’ reactions.
During the Fast Talk interview, she named Richards as her favorite acting partner. While she admitted to having fallen for a leading man, she did not confirm if it was Richards. The pair previously starred in several GMA Network shows, including Alakdana, One True Love, and Mundo Mo’y Akin.
Meanwhile, Alden Richards gained international fame alongside Maine Mendoza in the 2015 Eat Bulaga segment “Kalyeserye,” which catapulted the “AlDub” love team to massive success. Richards is now set to star opposite Kathryn Bernardo in Hello, Love, Again, the sequel to their 2019 hit Hello, Love, Goodbye, while Mendoza is married to actor-politician Arjo Atayde.
