Former senators Vicente “Tito” Sotto III, Panfilo “Ping” Lacson, and reelectionist Senator Lito Lapid officially filed their certificates of candidacy (COC) for the 2025 midterm elections on Wednesday morning. Sotto and Lapid are running under the Nationalist People’s Coalition (NPC), while Lacson is a guest candidate for the party.
All three are part of the administration’s 12-member senatorial slate for the upcoming May 2025 elections. Despite being included in President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos’ slate, Lacson, a former presidential candidate in 2022, reiterated that he is running as an independent candidate.
