Senator Imee Marcos officially filed her certificate of candidacy (COC) for reelection in the 2025 elections on Wednesday. Accompanied by her sons Borgy and Michael Manotoc, as well as her mother, former First Lady Imelda Marcos, Sen. Marcos submitted her COC to the Commission on Elections (Comelec) under the Nacionalista Party (NP).
Although the NP has an alliance with the President’s Partido Federal ng Pilipinas as part of the administration’s “Alyansa ng Bagong Pilipinas” slate, Sen. Marcos emphasized her independence. “I am not allied with any group, any sector,” she said, pledging to remain “free and firm” during the campaign.
Marcos, who won her first Senate term in 2019 under the Hugpong ng Pagbabago slate led by Vice President Sara Duterte, is seeking another six-year term.
