Barbie Forteza Reflects on Past Auditions for Young Marian Rivera Roles

Barbie Forteza, a celebrated name in the Kapuso network, recently opened up about the challenges she faced early in her career, revealing her attempts to land roles portraying a young Marian Rivera in three iconic projects. During an episode of Fast Talk, the actress shared her experiences auditioning for the younger versions of Marian Rivera’s characters in “Marimar,” “Dyesebel,” and “Darna,” albeit without success.

Forteza humorously recalled her auditions, noting her fear of dogs thwarted her chance to play Marimar, a role closely associated with the character Fulgoso. Her attempt to portray Dyesebel also fell short as she couldn’t swim, a critical skill for embodying the famous mermaid. Lastly, her fear of heights made her an unlikely candidate for the flying superheroine Darna.

Despite these setbacks, Forteza’s career did not suffer. She continues to thrive in the industry, with her upcoming role in the historical action-drama “Pulang Araw,” where she stars alongside David Licauco, Sanya Lopez, and Alden Richards. This revelation serves as a testament to her perseverance and resilience, proving that initial failures can lead to greater opportunities.

Forteza’s journey underscores the importance of persistence in the entertainment industry and highlights how challenges can pave the way for significant achievements. Her story is a motivating reminder for aspiring actors to continue striving for success, regardless of the obstacles they may encounter.
