Two Storms Predicted to Enter Philippines in December

Most of Luzon is expected to experience below-normal rainfall, while the rest of the country will likely see near-normal rainfall. PAGASA also warns that the strong El Niño currently affecting the tropical Pacific Ocean may intensify and persist through the first half of 2024.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) has forecasted that up to two tropical cyclones may enter the Philippine area of responsibility this December. These storms typically make landfall over Eastern Visayas and Caraga. Concurrently, areas like Batangas, Cavite, and Oriental Mindoro are facing potential drought conditions due to El Niño, as indicated by the actual rains received from July to November.
