After the murder of Negros Oriental Governor Roel Degamo and eight people inside his house in Barangay Isidro, Pamplona town, on March 4, Dela Rosa stated that he had already encouraged his colleagues’ senators to increase their level of security.
“Sabi ko sa kanila…yung security nyo, i-beef up ninyo then mag-practice kayong bumaril…Mag ensayo kaya para you don’t know when are you going to need that mabuti ng prepared tayo,” he added.
(I told them to beef up their security and practice using guns. I told them to practice because they don’t know when they are going to need that, so we better be prepared.)
On Monday, senators passed a resolution denouncing the deaths and attacks on government officials and private individuals in the country.
