Following her stellar Super Bowl half-time performance and a pregnancy announcement, Rihanna hopes to release a new album as soon as possible.
Rihanna, together with her partner A$AP Rocky and their child, graced the cover of British Vogue’s March 2023 issue. In the cover story, Rihanna expressed that she wants to release her next album this year. It has been seven years since “Anti” was released.
“I want it to be this year. Like, honestly, it’d be ridiculous if it’s not this year. But I just want to have fun. I just want to make music and make videos.”
Despite not having released an album in the last seven years, Rihanna hasn’t stopped creating new songs. Although, she still considers “Anti” to be her best work. She said that it feels like the most cohesive album she’s made, with the track beginning with “Consideration” to finishing with “Sex with Me.”
“I realized that if I keep waiting until this feels right and perfect and better, maybe it’s going to keep taking forever and maybe it’ll never come out and no, I’m not down to that. So I want to play. And by play, I mean I have my ideas in my head, but I can’t say them out loud yet,” Rihanna said.
