Dolly De Leon Longlisted for BAFTA Award

Filipina actress Dolly De Leon continues to gain recognition from her portrayal of Abigail in the dark comedy film “Triangle of Sadness.” 

Following her Golden Globe nomination last December, De Leon is now one of the 10 actresses included in the British Academy of Film and Television Arts longlist for Best Supporting Actress in 2023. 

Members of the Acting Chapter as well as a longlisting jury determine the longlist. After deliberating on the performances, six actors from the longlist will be selected as nominees.  

The final list of nominees will be revealed on January 19 and the awarding ceremony will be on February 19. 

Dolly De Leon is joined by the following in the longlist: 

– Angela Bassett in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever

– Hong Chau in The Whale

– Kerry Condon in The Banshees of Inisherin

– Jamie Lee Curtis in Everything Everywhere All At Once

– Lashana Lynch in The Woman King

– Janelle Monáe in Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery

– Carey Mulligan in She Said

– Emma Thompson in Roald Dahl’s Matilda The Musical

– Aimee Lou Wood in Living

Since the “Triangle of Sadness” Cannes premiere, De Leon has been earning praises for her performance. She also signed with a US talent agency and is set to work on two more Hollywood movies.
