Bob McGrath, one of the founding cast members of Sesame Street, died last Sunday. He was 90 years old.
Through a Facebook post, the Sesame Workshop page announced the passing of McGrath. The statement read, “Bob embodied the melodies of Sesame Street like no one else, and his performances brought joy and wonder to generations of children around the world, whether teaching them the ABCs, the people in their neighborhood, or the simple joy of feeling music in their hearts.”
Cathlin McGrath, McGrath’s daughter, told the Washington Post that the actor died of complications after a stroke.
The actor, children’s author, and tenor singer was one of the longest-running human characters in Sesame Street. His final episode was aired last 2017.
