MANILA, Philippines — The first-ever season of Drag Race Philippines successfully concluded, announcing Precious Paula Nicole as the winner.
Precious, who we can now call the drag superstar, competed against eleven other contestants before lip-syncing “Sirena” by Gloc-9 with Marina Summers in the final round of the competition.
The first season was shot last year, during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic in the country. The first winner of the season has only been revealed on October 12, Wednesday evening.
“Life is precious, and so are we. Let’s continue to inspire and let’s continue to love. I am Precious Paula Nicole, your Drag Race Superstar.”

In an interview, Precious said that if the chance came up, she would be willing to represent the Philippines on the American version of RuPaul’s Drag Race.
Precious is also set to make an appearance at RuPaul’s DragCon to be held in January 2023 in London, United Kingdom.
Fans hailed Precious last month for contributing to the Angat Buhay Foundation through her donation campaign efforts to aid those affected by Typhoon Karding.
The Philippines Drag Race edition debuted on the streaming platforms HBO Go, Discovery Plus, and Wow Presents Plus on August 17, and it quickly gained a large fan base among the Filipino audience and became a nationwide trending topic on Twitter.
The production, the judges, and even the main host, Paolo Balesteros, were all subject to backlash criticism during the show’s run.
Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach, Song Bird Regine Velasquez, Actress Nadine Lustre, Comedian Pokwang, Social Media Star Patrick Star, and talk show host Boy Abunda were among the celebrities who served as guest judges on the show. While celebrity impersonator KaladKaren, Filipino drag queen Jiggly Caliente, comedian Jon Santos, fashion Designer Rajo Laurel and photographer BJ Pascual served as the regular judges.
While fans are excited for “Drag Race Philippines Season 2,” international streaming platforms HBO Go and Discovery+ denied that there is already a season two of “Drag Race Philippines” on its way.
