The Battle for ‘Drag Race Philippines’ will Begin in August

MANILA, Philippines – The time has come to lip-sync for your life as the American production company World of Wonder revealed that the highly-anticipated Drag Race Philippines will be aired on August 17.

The 1-minute trailer released on Sunday also announced that former Drag Race contestant Jiggly Caliente will be one of the jurors in the upcoming Pinoy version.

“I am overjoyed in a major, major way to be joining the judges’ panel for Drag Race Philippines,”

“There is a fierce Filipino drag race scene, and I am proud to be returning to my home country in this new role as a Drag Race judge to shine a spotlight on these incredible artists to the world – or the universe, rather! Pak! Mabuhay, Drag Race.” The drag star added.

Caliente finished eighth place in the 4th season of the international reality show. She came back for RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars 6, where she got eliminated on the second episode and placed 12th.

The fans will also witness the drama behind the scenes as the show will be accompanied by the Untucked series, which will air alongside new episodes.

Aside from the revelation of the Drag Race Philippines’ other judges, fans are also waiting for the announcement of its program host. Many have suggested that it should be Filipino drag queen Paolo Ballesteros, while others aim for comedian Vice Ganda. Some have joked that talk show host Boy Abunda is the next host because he looks like RuPaul, the show’s main host and producer.

The American reality competition television series created by RuPaul and World of Wonder was first released in February 2009. The show continued until its 14th season, which ended last month.
